OOTD (1)--A September Dress

I heard someone say last week that they felt like September was an awkward month.  It's in-between summer and autumn and people usually wish they were in one or the other.  I have to agree.  September just doesn't have too much excitement in our household and I tend to forget about it.

So I decided to create an outfit for a September look.  I wanted it to be a look that could easily be adjusted based on the weather and that had colors of both summer and fall.

And here it is:

What do you think?

  • The dress is sleeveless and has both bright and deep colors.
  • I paired it with a jean jacket to give it more of an autumn look.
  • I'm wearing brown boots in this photo but I've also worn it with gold sandals.  Again, easy to change based on the weather.
  • I chose a white bangle bracelet and a gold bird necklace for the accessories.  Also some simple gold hoops.

Dress--Fossil, Jean Jacket--Old Navy, Boots--DSW, Jewelry--F21

So comfortable.  Casual yet professional (I can wear this to work since the dress reaches my knees).

So maybe I'm starting to love September...

*I'm not being endorsed to represent any company and everything was purchased with my own $$.

  2. Lovely! The dress looks like it's really versatile. I'm always on the lookout for something like that but never manage to find anything :(

  3. Thanks, ladies! Sometimes, Alison, I wish I didn't have to choose what to wear to work :)
Isabella, look for end-of-season sales. That's when I find the most versatile pieces.
